FX Group launches
multimedia-rich new Web site

OCOEE, Fla. — FX Group, a leading scenic design firm, launched its new broadcast division Web site Nov. 1.

The site, which has been in development for nearly four months, provides detailed information about the Emmy-winning company’s broadcast set design services, staff and portfolio.

“We’re very proud and excited about this site,” said Mack McLaughlin, CEO and creative director of FX. “It puts a wealth of information about FX right in front of anyone with an Internet connection.”

The Web site includes an overview of FX’s completely turnkey set design and fabrication services, an industry-exclusive, as well as the company’s design process, shot-by-shot design philosophy and high definition set design expertise.

Behind the scenes, the site utilizes a wealth of cutting-edge technology to serve up a dynamic and unique user experience.

“We wanted our site to take advantage of the Internet’s rich multimedia capabilities to deliver a site that’s exciting and fun for users to browse,” said Vice President Kathy Mosher-Boulé, speaking from the company’s 50,000-square foot facility located outside Orlando.

Using Flash Video, the same program that powers popular video sharing site YouTube, FX has become the first scenic design firm to offer full motion video clips on its Web site.

In another first for the industry, the new site also includes user-controlled panoramic virtual tours of select sets powered by Apple’s QuickTime. The company’s interactive portfolio now features advanced JavaScript-powered slideshows that gently fade and animate onto the user’s screen.

It’s important to note, said Mosher-Boulé, that FX’s Web site will continue to evolve over the coming months and years. Not only will it be updated regularly showcasing the company’s latest projects, but FX is planning to add new features and make modifications based on user feedback.

“We want this to be a good experience for our clients and users,” said Mosher-Boulé.

In addition, the company, whose clients include major broadcast and cable networks as well as large and small affiliate stations across the country, plans on launching a redesigned site for its corporate and event division within the next two months. This division has done work for companies such as Sprint Nextel, Texaco and Avon.

The new Web site is the most visible element of FX’s renewed dedication to the Internet. Over the past few months, the company has been initiating a variety of Internet marketing and advertising campaigns and plans to continue these initiatives in the future.
