Competition in the U.S.'s number-two market is fierce and NBC O&O KNBC-TV needed a stand-out new set to match L.A.'s fast-paced, exciting lifestyle.

The new set FX delivered comes alive with bold strokes of color, branded network logos and cutting-edge technology. At the center, an anchor desk with modern round glass extensions is backed by an oversized cityscape dura.

Glass-fronted monitor walls encase additional duras and LCD arrays and are finished off with the easily-recognizable NBC peacock.

Off the main anchor area, a flexible, curved standup area can be used for a variety of franchise reporting, while the station's old set has found a second life as an interview area with some strategic cosmetic changes from FX.

FX designers were also able to, through careful attention to design and layout, give KNBC-TV meteorologists four locations for weather reporting, despite the compact size of the area. These locations include an anchor desk debrief position and multiple standup options.
