WCVB-TV, Hearst-Argyle's dominant station in the nation's seventh-largest market, tasked FX Group with designing and building a new set for the debut of its HD newscasts.

The wraparound set features a unique and edgy look complete with lighted, glass-edged columns, monitor walls, bold, colorful graphic backgrounds and a modern tech center stocked with HD flat panel displays. An eye-catching back-lit header above the anchor desk complements the unique, cityscape background with blurred sides.

To the other side, a weather center with dramatic curves gives meteorologists a standup presentation pod as well as several alternate reporting positions.

In addition to the main news set, FX also designed an interview-style area for the station's popular "Chronicle" magazine program featuring stone columns, warm woods and unique, curved plexiglass arches inspired by the show's graphics package.
